Reverse description A left-facing truncated bust of an allegorical Native woman personifying Liberty dominates the central field, her hair elaborately dressed with a feathered headdress inscribed LIBERTAD across the band. The engraver's initials HP appear on the truncation. The denomination legend MEDIO PESO runs along the left border, while 12 1/2 GRAMOS appears on the right; four five-pointed stars punctuate the field around the bust. The date 1963, flanked by stars, is inscribed along the lower border.
