Reverse description Seated allegorical figure of Britannia facing left, holding a long spear in her left hand and an olive branch in her outstretched right hand, with a shield bearing the Union flag resting against her left side. The composition is set within a beaded border, with the legend BRITAN NIA flanking the figure and the date appearing in the exergue below. Britannia's right hand is depicted in a lowered position, a characteristic feature of this third issue type. The design is attributed to John Roettier and reflects the established post-Restoration Britannia iconography.
