Obverse description A seated female allegorical figure, likely Britannia or a personification of Industry, is depicted in left profile, resting upon rocky ground. She holds a staff or sceptre in her right hand, with a large harp visible to her right in the field. The figure is classically draped and rendered in a bold relief typical of late 18th-century token coinage. The circular legend BIRMINGHAM MINING AND COPPER COMPANY arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 1792 appearing in the exergue below the figure.
