| Reverse description | Central field features a large interlaced cursive monogram of the letters G and G (for G. Gilberts), rendered in an elegant script cypher occupying the majority of the coin's field. Above the monogram, a squirrel sejant is depicted perched upon a fasces or bundle of sticks, serving as a crest device. The date 1794 appears in the lower exergue. The peripheral legend G. GILBERTS NORTHIAM HALF PENNY runs clockwise around the border, separated by small dots, within a dentilated rim. |
