Obverse description Draped bust of George, Prince of Wales, facing right, rendered in high relief with naturalistic portrait style typical of late 18th-century Conder token engraving. The effigy depicts the Prince in contemporary dress with a ruffled cravat, his hair dressed in the fashionable queue style of the period. The circular Latin legend GEORGE PRINCE OF WALES. runs around the periphery of the coin, terminating with a stop at lower right.

Reverse description The full Royal Arms of Great Britain displayed on a crowned oval shield at centre, encircled by the Garter motto, with the lion of England as dexter supporter and the unicorn as sinister supporter, both rampant. A banner below the shield bears the Prince of Wales motto ICH DIEN. The outer legend . LONDON AND MIDDLESEX . runs around the upper periphery, while HALFPENNY. appears along the lower periphery, all within a milled border.
