Obverse description Draped bust of Frederick, Duke of York facing right, rendered in moderate relief with period-style military dress and flowing hair. The legend arcs around the upper periphery of the field, while the denomination HALFPENNY and the date appear in the exergue below the effigy. The portrait is executed in the neoclassical engraving tradition common to late 18th-century British provincial token coinage.
