| Obverse description | At center, a crowned Irish harp divides the date within a beaded inner circle. The mintmark appears at the commencement of the encircling Latin legend. The design is characteristic of Elizabethan hammered coinage, with the harp rendered in a stylized late-16th-century manner. The legend runs continuously around the periphery outside the beaded border. |
