| Reverse description | A boldly rendered full-rigged sailing ship, widely identified as the Golden Hind, is depicted in right-facing profile riding stylised waves that occupy the lower portion of the field. The vessel features three tall masts with billowing sails fully set and a flag flying from the mainmast, conveying a strong sense of maritime power. The denomination legend HALF PENNY arcs across the upper field in large, widely spaced capital letters. The date 1937 appears in the lower exergual area, flanked by small dashes, with the engraver's initials HP noted in the lower right field. A continuous milled border frames the entire reverse design. |
