Reverse description A large six-pointed star (hexagram) dominates the reverse field, its two interlocking equilateral triangles centering on the round central hole. The legend BRITISH WEST AFRICA arcs around the upper portion of the coin in incuse Latin capitals, flanking the star. The date 1936 appears in the lower exergue, divided by the lower point of the hexagram and flanked by two raised dots. A continuous border of fine denticles frames the entire design.
