Obverse description Draped and mailed bust of a male figure facing right, occupying the central field. The peripheral legend reads AUCTORI CONNEC, with the abbreviated text distributed around the upper and lower portions of the coin. The portrait is rendered in a crude but characteristically American colonial style, with visible drapery at the shoulder and a laurel or wreath-like element near the crown of the head. The overall design reflects the engraving conventions typical of Connecticut coppers of the 1785–1788 series.
