Obverse description A large Tudor rose occupies the entire central field, rendered in relief with an inner rose of tightly clustered petals surrounded by a bold outer row of broad, rounded petals. The design fills nearly the full flan and is contained within a beaded inner circle. No legend, inscription, or mintmark appears on this face, consistent with the standard type for Charles I Tower mint halfpennies.
