| Obverse description | The heraldic arms of the British East India Company displayed centrally in the field, flanked by two rampant lions acting as supporters, each resting a forepaw on a cannonball. The central shield bears the Company's distinctive striped escutcheon, surmounted by a crowned helmet with a lion passant as crest, and flanked by two flagstaffs bearing pennants. A ribbon scroll below the shield carries the Latin motto legend. The coin is bordered by a prominent beaded rim. |
