Reverse description The reverse displays a central device comprising two native Australian animals — a kangaroo to the right and an emu to the left — facing one another, typical of the heraldic supporters derived from the colonial arms of Victoria. The legend VICTORIA arcs along the upper periphery within a beaded inner border. The date 1862 appears in the lower exergual area, separated from the central device by a beaded arc. The overall design reflects the standard reverse type employed by W.J. Taylor of London for numerous Victorian tradesmen's tokens of this period.
