Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Pedro IV facing right, rendered in high relief with finely detailed curling hair and an olive wreath. The royal effigy is truncated at the shoulder, set against a smooth field. The circular Latin legend PETRUS·IV·D·G·PORTUGALIÆ·ET·ALGARB·REX runs along the periphery, separated by interpuncts, with the date 1827 positioned at the base flanked by small floral ornaments. The coin is bordered by a finely toothed inner ring consistent with milled production at the Lisbon mint.
