Obverse description Central Burgundian cross with a firesteel at the intersection, from which hangs the jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece suspended on its collar. The four quadrants of the cross are flanked by two crowned triple-C royal monograms of Charles III. A fleur-de-lis mintmark appears at the top of the cross. The peripheral legend in Latin encircles the entire design within a beaded border.
