Reverse description The Vasa dynastic shield, bearing the Vasa sheaf emblem flanked by diagonal bends, is centrally positioned within a wreath or beaded inner circle. The shield displays the characteristic Vasa armorial device with a bound sheaf of grain at its center. A circular Latin legend inscribed in the outer field surrounds the inner circle. The overall composition is typical of Stockholm mint issues of the Erik XIV period, rendered in the hammered technique with slightly irregular flan edges.
