Reverse description An elaborate voided cross with fleur-de-lis terminals at each end, bearing a large letter C at the centre, the whole set within a quadrilobe frame. The four quarters of the cross are each charged with a crowned lion passant guardant, characteristic of the royal arms of England. The design is executed in the intricate, symmetrical style typical of Treaty period noble coinage, with the encircling legend in Lombardic script divided by stops.
