| Obverse description | Within a ship, a crowned and armoured full-length effigy of Edward III stands facing, holding a sword upright in the right hand and a shield bearing the quartered arms of England and France in the left. The hull of the ship is rendered with decorative planking and shields along the gunwale. A continuous Latin legend in uncial characters runs within a beaded inner circle around the periphery of the field. |
