Reverse description The reverse depicts a traditional Egyptian-style Hanukkah oil lamp rendered in relief at the center of the field, its characteristic saucer form with a single spout shown with fine artistic detail. The lamp motif is superimposed upon a large Star of David occupying the majority of the coin's face, a recurring design element in the Israeli Hanukkah coin series. The Hebrew legend 'חנוכה התשס"ח' — meaning 'Hanukkah 5768' — appears in the lower portion of the field, referencing both the festival and the Hebrew calendar year corresponding to 2007–2008. The design is enclosed within the plain dodecagonal border of the flan, with no additional dentilation on this face.
