Obverse description Truncated right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, engraved by Arnold Machin, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The portrait is rendered in a refined, classical style with fine detail to the hair and diadem. The circular legend reads ELIZABETH THE SECOND around the upper periphery, with the date 1975 positioned below the bust in the lower field.

Reverse description A naturalistic spray of Jacobaea vulgaris (Common Ragwort, known locally as Cushag), the national flower of the Isle of Man, depicted with three flowering heads in full bloom and several budding stems rising from a common root, rendered in fine botanical detail by Christopher Ironside. The legend ISLE OF MAN is inscribed along the upper periphery, with a raised dot separating the inscription at left. The denomination HALF NEW PENNY is distributed along the lower arc, also separated by a raised dot, completing the circular border inscription.
