| Reverse description | Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic mint and regnal inscription in nasta'liq script, reading 'zarb sultan kashgar' (struck by order of the Sultan, at the Kashgar Mint). The legend is arranged in two to three lines across the flan, accompanied by the AH date. A decorative border of beaded or scrolling foliate ornament encircles the inscription, consistent with Kashgar hammered coinage of the period. The flan is irregular and slightly dumpy, typical of hand-struck provincial silver issues of Sinkiang. |
