Reverse description Two Chinese ideograms positioned at top and bottom of the field denoting the denomination of five fen. A Manchu legend appears to the left and an Arabic legend to the right, both identifying the Kashgar mint. The overall composition is bilingual and biscriptal, reflecting the multicultural administrative character of Qing-era Sinkiang. The engraving is characteristic of locally produced hammered provincial issues with irregular flan preparation.
