Centrally placed is the elaborate municipal coat of arms of Horst-Emscher, featuring a heraldic lion rampant within a quartered shield, surrounded by ornate baroque cartouche scrollwork with acanthus-style volutes extending to either side and a fleur-de-lis finial surmounting the composition.
