| Obverse description | Central field displays the elaborate fortified city arms of Lüneburg, depicting a walled city gate with multiple towers surmounted by orbs, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. A small shield bearing the Lüneburg lion is positioned at the base of the city arms. The surrounding circular legend reads MONETA. NOVA. LVNEBVRGENSIS. in Latin characters, partially visible along the upper and left periphery, separated by a rope-like border from the central device. The overall style is characteristic of mid-sixteenth-century German hammered silver coinage. |
