| Reverse description | The copper-nickel centre depicts a detailed view of a historic stone building or gateway of Seborga, rendered in fine relief, showing an arched bridge or entrance with flanking structures adorned with heraldic shields. The denomination legend 'mezzo L' (meaning half Luigino) appears in the lower portion of the inner field. The outer brass ring carries the encircling legend 'PRINCIPATO DI SEBORGA' along the upper arc, separated from the centre by a beaded border. |

| Additional information |
Seborga's claim to independent principality status rests on a disputed 1079 deed and was actively promoted by Giorgio Carbone, a flower grower elected "prince" by the village in 1963. The luigino — named after a 17th-century coin once issued by the historical Principality of Seborga — was introduced in 1995 as part of Carbone's sustained campaign for international recognition, accepted by some local merchants at a fixed rate against the lira.
The X# prefix in Krause indicates this is catalogued among non-standard world issues — neither fully official nor purely novelty, which about sums up Seborga's legal ambiguity under Italian constitutional law.
