Obverse description Central field bears a crowned imperial shield displaying the Austrian arms, surmounted by the Habsburg imperial crown. The shield is flanked by decorative elements, and a circular legend in Latin script reads around the periphery, identifying the coin as an Imperial and Royal Austrian Scheidemünze — a token or subsidiary coinage whose intrinsic metal value falls below its nominal face value.
