Obverse description Central device depicts the crowned rampant lion of Bohemia, facing left, occupying the field. The date is divided and positioned at the upper left and upper right of the lion, with the regnal initials 'F III' (for Ferdinand III) inscribed below. The design is characteristic of mid-17th century Bohemian hammered coinage, with an irregular flan and no encircling legend.
