Obverse description The obverse features the Palatinate lion rampant facing left, positioned centrally within the field, rendered in a bold, stylized manner characteristic of German minor coinage of the period. The lion's tail curls upward prominently behind the body. A circular legend surrounds the device, reading CHVE PFALT along the upper arc with the date (e.g. 1759) to the right, and the mintmaster's initials AS at the base below the lion. The coin is bordered by a fine dentilated rim.
