| Obverse description | Central ornate oval shield bearing the combined arms of Salzburg (upper third) and the personal arms of Archbishop Paris von Lodron (lower portion), surmounted by a cross and an archiepiscopal cardinal's hat with pendant tassels. The shield is flanked by decorative ornaments. A Latin legend in capital letters commences at approximately the two o'clock position and encircles the design, interrupted at the base by ornamental devices. |
