Obverse description Draped bust of Saint Rupert facing right, depicted in episcopal vestments with a decorative collar, his hair rendered in fine parallel lines falling to the neck. The effigy is boldly struck in high relief and occupies the central field, consistent with the early sixteenth-century Germanic hammered style. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, reading ORA PRO ME SANCTE RVDBERTE, invoking the intercession of Salzburg's patron saint. The legend is separated from the inner field by a plain border, with a dentillated or beaded rim at the periphery.
