Reverse description A tall, elaborately mantled helmet surmounted by a pair of branching buffalo horns, issuing from a ducal crown and flanked by scrolling foliate lambrequins, all set within a beaded inner circle. A small bust emerges from the crest atop the helmet. The surrounding Latin legend in majuscule lettering records the titles of Duke Henry of Saxony together with the date of issue. The overall composition reflects the ornate German Renaissance heraldic style typical of early sixteenth-century Ernestinian coinage.
