Reverse description A large ornate closed tournament helmet facing front, surmounted by an elaborate crest featuring tall buffalo horns with foliate and figural mantling issuing from either side, all rendered in the Renaissance Gothic style characteristic of early sixteenth-century Saxon coinage. The helmet rests upon a coronet and is flanked by decorative lambrequins filling the inner field. The circumferential Latin legend in the outer field bears the titles of Duke Georg of Saxony (Albertine Line), with the mint date A 1537 incorporated into the legend.
