Reverse description Central field displays the denomination 1/2 GULDEN in two lines, with the fractional numeral set above the word GULDEN in bold upright roman lettering. The date appears below the denomination. The entire central inscription is encircled by a full wreath composed of oak branches with acorns, tied at the base with a ribbon bow, all within a toothed border. The design is clean and heraldic in character, typical of South German states coinage of the Gulden currency period.
