Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Grand Duke Leopold I facing right, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair. The peripheral legend reads LEOPOLD GROSHERZOG VON BADEN, running along the upper rim in Latin script. The portrait is unadorned, presenting the ruler in a naturalistic Neoclassical style characteristic of mid-19th century German coinage. The field is smooth and unadorned save for the effigy and surrounding inscription.
