Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Prince Carl (Charles Anthony) of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair. The portrait is executed in a neoclassical style characteristic of German princely coinage of the mid-19th century. The circular legend reads CARL FÜRST ZU HOHENZOLLERN SIGMARINGEN, distributed around the periphery of the coin, separated by a dot at the lower right. The field is smooth and unadorned, drawing full attention to the effigy. A toothed border runs along the rim.
