| Obverse description | Laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right, engraved by Lewis Pingo, with elaborately curled hair bound by a laurel wreath and a queue visible at the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detailing to the facial features and drapery folds at the truncation. The circular legend GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA runs clockwise around the periphery, separated from the bust by a flat field. A fine toothed border encloses the design at the rim. |
