Obverse description Right-facing laureate and draped bust of King George III, rendered in the third portrait style engraved by Johann Sigismund Tanner. The king's hair is elaborately styled with flowing curls, and a laurel wreath crowns the head. The truncation of the bust is visible at the lower edge of the coin. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the effigy within the coin's field.
