| Reverse description | Crowned cruciform shield of the Royal Arms, quartered with the arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (lion rampant), France (three fleurs-de-lis), and Ireland (harp), with the Hanoverian escutcheon at the center. A large arched crown surmounts the shield. The date is divided by the upper portion of the shield, with two digits appearing on each side. The encircling Latin legend abbreviates the full royal titles and runs along the inner border. A modified shield variety is also known for certain dates within this series. |
