| Reverse description | Within a beaded inner circle, the letters T, I, V, S are arranged around a central pellet, forming part of the saint's name in a radial composition typical of central Italian civic grosso coinage of the 15th century. A mintmaster mark appears at the top of the inner circle. The outer legend, rendered in Gothic uncial Latin, encircles the design and invokes Saint Venantius, the patron saint of Camerino, with the full epigraphic text divided by star-shaped stops. The flan is irregular and the strike is characteristic of hand-hammered production. |
