Obverse description Facing bust of St. Blaise (patron saint of Ragusa) within a beaded inner circle serving as an aureole, rendered in a stylized medieval manner characteristic of hammered coinage. The saint is depicted frontally with ecclesiastical vestments suggested by the simplified die engraving. A circular Latin legend in uncial script surrounds the central device within the outer border of the coin.
