| Obverse description | Central field displays the Altieri family arms — a shield bearing six mullets arranged in two rows above a single mullet at base — surmounted by the crossed keys of Saint Peter and the papal tiara, all rendered in high relief. The heraldic composition is flanked by elaborate acanthus-style mantling. The circular legend reads CLEM • X • PONT • MAX •, distributed around the shield, with the denomination side divided at left and right. The coin's border features a bold inner beaded (milled) ring typical of Roman papal issues of the period. |
