Obverse description A rampant lion passant to the left occupies the central field, depicted in a vigorous heraldic style with its right forepaw raised and brandishing a sword aloft. The figure is rendered with pronounced detail in the mane and haunches, consistent with the Gothic die-cutting tradition of northern Italy. The central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, beyond which runs the peripheral legend in uncial Latin characters. The overall composition reflects the civic heraldic iconography associated with Cabrino Fondulo's signoria over Cremona.
