Reverse description Central field features a floriated heraldic shield bearing the ermine arms of Brittany, surmounted by a crested helm with elaborate mantling. The shield is set within a quadrilobe or cusped inner frame, creating a Gothic decorative composition typical of late 14th-century French feudal coinage. The mint mark N for Nantes appears in the legend. A beaded inner circle separates the central device from the surrounding Latin devotional legend, which is divided by cross stops. The flan is irregular and the strike shows typical characteristics of medieval hammered production.
