Obverse description A heraldic shield occupies the central field, bearing the Moldavian dynastic monogram composed of interlocked Gothic letter forms, with a small cross-pattee below the monogram within the shield. To the left of the shield, a key is depicted vertically, serving as a mint or privy mark. The design is rendered in a bold, somewhat angular hammered style typical of mid-fifteenth century Moldavian billon coinage. No legend or inscription is present on this side.
