Obverse description Central field displays a quartered shield of Bavaria-Palatinate, tilted slightly and surmounted by a crested helm, itself crowned and adorned with a plume of peacock feathers. The heraldic composition is rendered in the typical late medieval Gothic style associated with hammered coinage. A circular legend in Latin uncial script is contained between an inner and outer beaded or pearled girdle, enclosing the entire device.

Reverse description Central device consists of the Luxemburgish shield bearing a rampant lion to sinister, positioned on a field of five pieces and superimposed upon an elongated cross pattée whose arms divide the surrounding legend into four segments. The entire composition is set within an epicycloid border formed by a double rib terminating in globules, a decorative feature characteristic of late medieval Low Countries coinage. The circular legend in Latin uncial script is contained between two concentric pearled circles.
