| Reverse description | A long cross pattée extends to the inner circle, dividing the reverse field into four quarters. In the cantons appear alternating heraldic motifs: rampant lions and eagle shields, referencing the dynastic arms of the lord of Anholt. The cross terminals broaden into decorative splayed ends characteristic of late medieval Low Countries ecclesiastical and seigneurial coinage. A circular legend in uncial Latin letterforms runs between the inner and outer beaded circles, identifying the mint as Anholt and designating the issue as a nova moneta. |
