| Obverse description | Facing crowned bust of Henry VIII in the second coinage style, rendered in the characteristic flat, schematic manner of early Tudor hammered coinage. The king wears an arched crown and is shown facing front with simplified facial features typical of the period. An inner beaded circle frames the royal effigy, with a cross-tipped sceptre or mintmark visible above. The surrounding legend in uncial Latin characters reads the royal titulature, separated by saltire stops, within an outer beaded border. |
