(Translation: Duke William, by God`s Grace Count of Holland and Zeeland)
Reverse description A long cross pattée extends to the inner circle, dividing the reverse legend into four quadrants. In each angle formed by the arms of the cross, a small rampant lion of the Bavarian arms alternates as a decorative device, reflecting the dynastic connection of the Wittelsbach counts of Holland. The surrounding Latin legend, separated by trefoil stops, identifies the coin as a new issue of Holland and Zeeland. The overall style is consistent with early fifteenth-century hammered silver coinage of the Low Countries.
