| Reverse description | A floriated cross with elaborately trefoiled or lily-tipped arms dominates the central field, in the tradition of late medieval gold florins. Small pellets or decorative elements are placed in the angles between the arms of the cross. The circumferential legend, rendered in uncial Gothic lettering, reads DEI GRA PRS AVRIC, proclaiming the prince's rule by the grace of God over Orange. The coin exhibits the characteristic irregular flan and bold relief of hand-hammered gold coinage of the late fifteenth century. |
