| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a plain Spanish-style shield charged with three fleurs-de-lis of France (arranged two and one), surmounted by an elaborate royal crown with fleurons and pearls. A sun or annulet mint mark appears above the crown. The whole is encircled by a beaded inner border, with the royal legend in Gothic uncial characters running continuously around the outer margin. |
